How can coaching help you?
Executive coaching is a personalised and supportive approach that empowers individuals to discover their own solutions, develop skills, and modify attitudes and behaviors in a way that suits them best. The ultimate goal of coaching is to help you unlock your full potential in the workplace.
People look to coaching for various reasons. You may be contemplating your next career steps, facing challenges in the workplace, seeking to define your goals, or longing for a fresh start. No matter what your objectives are, coaching can support you to identify the most effective path to achieve them.
In coaching, you take the lead – deciding what you want to discuss and where you want to go. As your coach, I approach your challenges with empathy, providing a supportive and safe space that helps you to find answers to your questions.
Coaching can support you to find ways to overcome a range of challenges, including:
My journey to becoming a coach
After the best part of twenty years of working full-time in a career I had planned very carefully, I suddenly realised that I was being underserved by goals and aspirations I had set myself when I graduated from University. In fact, I had achieved them time and time again and overcome some pretty challenging hurdles along the way.
A voice told me I had the potential to achieve so much more and needed a renewed focus.
Taking some time to reflect helped me to redefine my values and sense of purpose. This idea of purpose was actually pretty new to me – I had been stuck in a hamster wheel for so long. I made plans to leave my job and set about setting up my own business, focused on aspects of my career that had always brought me great joy and satisfaction:
- Writing about inspiring science and technology,
- Finding ways to communicate complex topics,
- Supporting professionals to overcome challenges through coaching and mentoring.
I am now completing an ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring with the University of South Wales, so my coaching style reflects best practice and ethical standards.
As an executive coach, I bring 15 years of experience in communications management and leadership roles across the higher education and science and technology sectors, along with a top-rated coaching qualification, to support my clients to maximise their personal and professional potential.
“Dan is an amazing coach. He is very intuitive and takes a human yet analytical approach to problem-solving. He is inquisitive and curious, with a charming and friendly tone. I really enjoyed our sessions together, and worked through some difficult challenges with a sense of achievement and – dare I say it – enjoyment.”
I offer in-person executive coaching from my office in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, and virtual coaching to clients across the UK and internationally. If you wish, I can also travel to you! While my coaching focus is mainly the higher education, non-profit and science and technology sectors, I coach individuals across a range of job roles and sectors.
Following a free 20-minute meet-and-greet, you can book an individual 1-hour session with me, or a block of six or eight sessions.
